Watershed restoration provisional accrual
watershed_v1 · v1.0.0
Uses monitored NDWI improvement against a signed baseline to estimate a provisional watershed-restoration credit signal.
Inputs
- concession area, vintage year, country and signed baseline;
- quality-controlled NDWI monitoring observations;
- ground-sensor presence for integrity context;
- registered restoration and permanence factors.
Calculation
Positive mean NDWI improvement is converted to a bounded recovered fraction using the registered recovery range. Gross provisional accrual multiplies the recovered fraction by area and the registered restoration factor. Net accrual applies the method's permanence adjustment. Integrity scoring evaluates evidence density and ground support separately.
Outputs
- NDWI improvement and recovered fraction;
- gross and net provisional accrual;
- observation density and integrity components;
- signed vintage evidence.
Limitations
NDWI is sensitive to surface water, vegetation and acquisition conditions and is not a direct measure of hydrological function or soil carbon. The output is a provisional restoration signal, not a recognized market unit or verified carbon credit.
