ENCORE-aligned ecosystem dependency assessment

Maps mining activity to ecosystem-service dependencies and adjusts relevant dependency exposure using current water-stress and land-loss evidence.

- Registered ENCORE-aligned mining dependency matrix.
- Latest baseline water-stress category, when available.
- Latest tree-cover-loss assessment, when available.
Calculation
Each matrix dependency starts with its registered base score. Freshwater-use dependencies are amplified by water stress up to a 1.5 multiplier. Land-use dependencies are amplified by assessed loss up to a 1.3 multiplier. The aggregate is a base-score-weighted mean of contextual dependency scores.

- ecosystem services, categories, processes and dependency levels;
- base and contextual scores with rationale;
- aggregate ecosystem-service risk score;
- source manifest references and signed assessment manifest.
Limitations
This method screens dependency exposure; it does not measure ecosystem condition or a site's actual operational dependence. Matrix mappings are representative of mining activities and should be refined with asset-specific process and supply-chain evidence where material.
