Calculates provisional avoided-deforestation credit accrual from a signed concession baseline and quality-controlled monitoring observations.

Inputs

• concession area, vintage year, country and signed baseline;
• quality-controlled Hansen and Sentinel monitoring observations;
• NDVI change and baseline NDVI;
• baseline carbon density when available;
• permanence, leakage and integrity parameters.

Calculation

The implemented screening model converts mean negative NDVI change into a bounded deforestation fraction and area. Gross tonnes are the derived area multiplied by baseline carbon density. Net provisional credits apply a 20% permanence buffer and 10% leakage discount. A separate integrity score combines additionality, permanence, monitoring density, co-benefits and jurisdictional context.

Limitations

This implementation produces provisional MRV accrual and includes an explicit NDVI proxy. It is not a registry-issued credit and does not replace full VM0048 baseline, leakage, uncertainty, safeguards, validation and verification requirements. Issuance requires the applicable registry process and independent verification.
